Like our devices, most men today could benefit from a hard restart. Spend a little time in the "off" position before powering up and jumping back into the busyness of life, work, family and everything else. Mens Getaway is simply that; an opportunity to disconnect from the routine of daily life, be filled (in mind and stomach) and to be encouraged. To be challenged by other men to understand who they are and what they are called to be, in spite of what the world says about them.
This is Where We're Going...
Ground Zero for Men’s Getaway is a turn of the century estate that’s been billed as one of the Southeast’s premier wedding destinations. Nestled at the mouth of the scenic Wilson Creek Gorge, this is an outdoorsman's paradise. Fishing, hiking and biking opportunities abound but if a hammock and a good book is more your style, you’ll be right at home.
Start your day by sipping coffee creekside or take the chill off with a dip in a hot tub just feet from your bedroom. Each of the yurts and cabins overlook Wilson creek and most include a private hot tub.
No beans and weenie's here, you'll enjoy food that's as epic as the scenery like hand-made artisan pizza, a gourmet burger bar and hearty breakfasts the way they should be. You will not go hungry.
As for things to do? Go as big as you want. Harper Creek Falls and Huntfish Falls are two mild, nearby hikes with incredible waterfalls you can actually swim in. Bring a fishing rod and try your luck in the infamous trout waters of Wilson creek, or simply enjoy the scenery of the gorge from the seat of your own bicycle. If you'd rather stay put at the resort, you can enjoy a sandy beach, hammocks and complimentary float tubes if you want to cool off.

Fully Refundable before June 1st
Full payment is due by June 15, 2025. Fee is refundable up to June 1, 2025 after which time your deposit or full registration fee will be used as a scholarship toward other attendees who wish to attend but can't pay the full price.
Space is limited to 45 people. That ensures everyone has a bed (with a few futons) to sleep in. Our goal is intentionality so we're capping it at 45 people to make sure every person is attended to and feels like a valued member of the event.

Why Sunday through Tuesday?
The resort we are staying at is a highly desirable wedding destination. It's booked up on the weekends over a year in advance and the price is substantial. By hosting Men's Getaway Sunday through Tuesday, we are able to have the entire resort to ourselves at a fraction of the price. Our hope is by providing enough advance notice, men have adequate time to plan for PTO and make arrangements with family/kids.
Where is the event taking place?
Brown Mountain Beach Resort is ground zero for Men's Getaway and is located about 30 minutes north of Morganton or an hour and forty five minutes from the LKN area. You can arrive at the resort as early as 3PM on Sunday afternoon or come up earlier in the day to explore the area.
What is the agenda?
There isn't one. While we believe there is a time and place for guest speakers, trainings and breakout sessions, our heartbeat for Men's Getaway is that men need a chance to get away, decompress and unplug. We intentionally don't have an agenda because we want men to be free to rest and play at their leisure. We will have specified meal times where we will gather as a group followed by some intentional conversation intended to foster further dialogue throughout the day. The majority of your day is open to rest, relax, hike, bike, swim, fish or simply explore the incredible area with other men.
What is included in the cost?
We want to remove as many barriers as possible to make it as easy as possible for men to attend. The $350 price includes 5 meals (Dinner Sunday, Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner Monday, and Breakfast Tuesday) as well as your accommodations in either a yurt or cabin at the resort. All you need to bring is whatever you're going to wear or any equipment/gear you think you'll want to bring. We want men to be here that need to be here, so if the cost is prohibitive, please email us and let us know.
What if my plans change?
We get that making plans 9 months in advance can be challenging, especially when it may involve PTO. That's why we're promoting this event so far in advance so people can plan accordingly. We heard from so many men last year that wanted to attend but couldn't make it work with their schedule. Even still, your $100 deposit is refundable up to June 15th. After that, the $100 deposit will go towards a scholarship for individuals who want to attend but are unable to afford the full price.
